We work closely together with the small elite Armagnac houses and can always assure the best quality of barrels. Armagnac is a protected designation of origin for this type of brandy produced in the Gascony. According to a regulation from 1909, about 15,000 hectares of vineyards in the departments of Gers, Landes and Lot-et-Garonne are designated for Armagnac production. Unlike Cognac, Armagnac is not distilled in a double distilling process, but in a single distilling process. This is followed by maturation in oak barrels for three to 20 years. The longer the maturation, the higher the quality. The minimum alcohol content is 40% by volume.
