We work closely together with many of the large cognac houses and therefore have access to barrels of different ages of the best quality at all times.
Cognac is a protected designation of origin. The wines are grown exclusively in the surrounding wine-growing areas of Cognac - Cognacais, Charente and Charente-Maritime. With about 90 %, the grape Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano) has the largest share of the total area. Since 1930 the wines have been classified into six quality grades (crus): Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bons Bois, Bois Ordinaires.
The composition (assemblage) of various brandys of different vintages and growing regions ultimately results in the finished cognac. The age of Cognac corresponds to the time it has been matured in oak barrels, since the aging process is over after bottling. The classification takes place according to the respective age in different categories: VS (Very Special), VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale), XO (Extra Old), XXO (Extra Extra Old).
The exalted cognac has its big competition in the lesser known Armagnac, which comes from the Gascony. Here, too, we deliver excellent Armagnac Barrels. Brandys from Spain have a different flavor but are of the same high quality. We also offer differnet kinds of Brandy Barrels.
